Content Compliance

Our benchmark for trusted content

We use Brandbank’s latest trusted content as our benchmark for compliance. Any expected content updates sent by manufacturers and brands to Brandbank are automatically pulled by us, and compliance scores are calculated again accordingly.
If you’d rather send us your expected content benchmark directly (instead of comparing to Brandbank), please contact your Account Manager.

Image compliance

We compare the main hero image shown on the retailer website to all trusted images on Brandbank.

When multiple trusted images are listed on Brandbank, we display them all, and score based on the closest match.

Comparison is powered by a graphic similarity algorithm, which looks at pixel matching, dimensions and quality. Based on those parameters, a “Compliant” (100%) vs. “Not compliant” (0%) score is assigned.

Compliant scores are given, in those cases where we determine that the images match, and quality and dimensions are either identical, or very similar.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

When an image is unavailable , you may see the following notice, it indicates that the retailer is not currently displaying an image for this item.

When viewing your portfolio across multiple retailers, the below message will apper if that item is not sold by one/some of the retailers in the choice selected.

The image not available message will display when there is no available image to display, however a compliance score is still available. 

Name compliance

We compare the SKU name shown on the retailer website to the trusted name listed in Brandbank.

Comparison is based on the amount of matching keywords and their order.

For every missing/superfluous/different word, a large penalty is given. Finally, a difference in order of keywords is given a moderate penalty.

The final score ranges between 100% (identical name) to 0% (completely wrong/different).

Description compliance

On each retailer’s Product listing page, we map out the various content sections, which describe the product (which may sit within 1 page section, or be spread over several page areas).

We compare all description texts shown on the retailer website to the trusted description listed in Brandbank.

Comparison is based on confirming that all important description copy is present.

A penalty is given, based on the amount of missing/wrong copy.

The final score ranges between 100% (all important description copy is listed) to 0% (completely wrong/missing).

Ingredients compliance

On each retailer’s Product listing page, we look at the list of ingredients.

We compare all list ingredients shown on the retailer website to the trusted ingredients list in Brandbank.

Comparison is based on confirming that all expected ingredients are present.

A penalty is given, based on the amount of missing/wrong ingredients.

The final score ranges between 100% (all expected ingredients are listed) to 0% (completely wrong/missing).

 

* Ingredients compliance is checked only on categories where it’s relevant - i.e . food and drink products, where ingredients need to be advertised.

If not relevant, it doesn’t participate in overall compliance scores.

 

Nutrition compliance

On each retailer’s Product listing page, we look at the list of nutritional contents.

We compare all nutrition content shown on the retailer website to the trusted nutrition in Brandbank.

Comparison is based on confirming that all expected nutrition facts are present.

A penalty is given, based on the amount of missing/wrong nutrition facts.

The final score ranges between 100% (all expected nutrition facts are listed) to 0% (completely wrong/missing).

* Nutrition compliance is checked only on categories where it’s relevant - i.e . food and drink products, where ingredients need to be advertised.

If not relevant, it doesn’t participate in overall compliance scores.

Attributes compliance

In certain categories, there may be unique back-of-pack attributes, which the customer wants to track closely.

This is typically true in cases where certain attributes have a legal or special consumer-facing significance (e.g. alcohol units / ABV in alcoholic beverages).

Pending setup via an Account Manager, we start tracking those attributes, and compare them to their trusted Brandbank benchmark values.

A penalty is given, based on the amount of missing/wrong nutrition values.

The final score ranges between 100% (all expected values are listed) to 0% (completely wrong/missing).

 

* Attributes compliance is checked only on categories where the customer explicitly requested to track certain attributes.

If not relevant, it doesn’t participate in overall compliance scores.
